Apex Presents - Local Spotlight: Wolvsun

Featured this week is a very close friend to Apex Presents and Electronic Anything, WOLVSUN! Originally from Puerto Rico, Rafael Pagan has called Miami home for the past two years. After playing at this years Life In Color and opening for many of the industries biggest names, he has put himself on the map as a serious player in the future of dance music in South Florida.

Over a decade of DJing, and 3 years of production has brought him to this point in his career. He has always been drawn to house & bass music, but his years of involvement in this industry has exposed him to almost everything that the scene has to offer. His biggest influences to date have been Rob Swire (Pendulum/Knife Party), Dyro, Zomboy, Skrillex, Jauz, Borgore, and GTA because of their unique style and diverse taste in music. If there's one thing that's for sure, Wolvsun has a genuine love for dance music and the dance music community.

Over the past few months Wolvsun has performed at several South Florida shows playing alongside Ookay, Bear Grillz, Yellow Claw, and many of South Florida's finest producers & DJs. His goal is to one day make it on to the festival circuit where he can share his love for electronic music with the world, especially with his family & friends back in Puerto Rico. Check out his live set from the Bear Grillz show a few weeks back, and follow his social media accounts so you can be sure to catch his next Miami show!

Apex Presents: Ookay Recap

This weekend might go down as one of the most epic shows in Heart Nightclub history! The family at Apex Presents brought internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Ookay to Miami. When we say this set was hard AF we mean it was HARD AS F*CK! We expected nothing less from the DJ that hangs out with Skrillex, Marshmello, Getter, and Jauz on the regular. Ookay's set had everyone hyped from the beginning to the end. He played all the hits, old and new that made us want to scream, sing, and jump around. Ookay brought us on a journey and was a great warm up for Sunset Music Festival this weekend!

Join us at the APEX on June 4th with Boombox Cartel at Heart Nightclub!

Apex Presents - Local Spotlight: SNOOKO

Every week it's so difficult to choose an artist to spotlight because there is so much to talk about when it comes to local talent in South Florida. This week's feature is Miami's own SNOOKO! If you've been to any of recent Apex Presents shows then you've probably heard that name before. What started as a hobby has turned into quite the movement in 2016 for this young Producer/DJ.

Born and raised in South Florida, Eric Jimenez aka Snooko, is not just your average college student. For years he has followed his passion to create and mix electronic dance music. His desire to jump into the dance music scene was sparked in sixth grade when he first heard Skrillex's "Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites". While dubstep will always hold a soft spot in his heart, he is a fan of a multitude of different styles & genres of electronic music. Doctor P, Bassnectar, Jauz, and Flume have been his biggest sources of musical inspiration.

Check out his "What's a Snooko? #1" mix below for a little taste of what you can expect to hear from a Snooko performance!

This year started out huge for Eric who was asked to play a nighttime set at Life In Color: Miami. In the months following, he has carried the momentum from dominating his first big festival set. He absolutely crushed his opening set for DJ 4B at Club Space and his support set for Trollphace is still being talked about by attendees! His high energy song selection and wicked mixing seems to captivate every audience he has the opportunity to play in front of.

This weekend is a very special weekend for Snooko. Not only is he booked to play a b2b set w/ fellow Miami local Loky at the OFFICIAL 'Journey To SMF' Miami party with Ookay, but he is also celebrating his 19th Birthday! Tickets are flying for this show so be sure to get yours ASAP at LevelSaturdays.com if you and your squad want to attend.

You're definitely going to want to check out this hilarious hype video he put together as a preview for this Saturday.

Apex Presents: Maydaze 2016 Recap

CLUB CINEMA will never be the same after the party that took place this past Saturday, May 14th. Our dear friends at Apex Presents owned the game with the revival of the popular summer party MAYDAZE. Starting at 8PM, Maydaze opened with a slew of local DJ talent from across of the South Florida area. Ranging from Deep House to Hardstyle, these local artists warmed up a crowd of hundreds of ravers ready to rage face.

Finally it was time to bring on the headliners. Once RAIN MAN (formerly of Krewella), got on the decks he was immediately greeted with a roar from the crowd that had been waiting for this moment. Rain Man dropped some fire ranging from the biggest hits to some epic throwbacks while crossing a large variety of electronic genres. During his set you could see several mosh pits begin to form, ready for each energy packed drop to hit! At the end of his set Rain Man closed with his most recent summer hit "Bring Back The Summer" that led perfectly into the next headliner, Kayzo.

Just coming off his highly talked about west coast shows, the Doghouse Takeover, the hype for KAYZO was the next level. Kayzo brought his Hardstyle vibes to Club Cinema and everyone was loving it. If you were a mosher, the crowd was definitely where you wanted to be. Pits were forming left, right, and center, you could not escape the rage!

After Kayzo, one might think that you couldn't turn up anymore but that was a big lie. BRILLZ amped the crowd up to the next level and made us wonder if the building was gonna survive after his set. Club Cinema was packed from as far as you can see Brillz dropped some next level twonk vibes. The twonkers were out in full force as they were dancing on top of the bars, moshing at every drop and trying to climb on stage just to be close to the twonk master himself. We were surprised that Club Cinema had any paint left on the walls and speakers that still worked.

This week join Apex Presents on the Official Journey 2 SMF with OOKAY at Heart Nightclub. This show features established Trap phenom, Ookay. Supported by Marshmellow, DJ Snake, Jauz, and Carnage, Ookay is poised to make Heart Nightclub the classic Miami Trap House.

Apex Presents - Local Spotlight: Katustrophix

As I mentioned last week, Electronic Anything & Apex Presents will be working together to shine a light on some of our favorite local South Florida talent. This week we are thrilled to introduce to you Katustrophix!

Hailing from West Palm Beach, Katustrophix is the perfect representation of what it means to represent South Florida with style! His specialty lies in reading a crowd, and he plays anything from chill deep house to the heaviest bass music. Jauz, Tchami, Lookas, Malaa, Valentino Khan, & The Chainsmokers are a few of his favorite artists dominating the dance music scene at the moment.

Check out his set from the Crizzly show at Heart Nightclub last month for a taste at what his live performances sound like.!

Over the past two and a half years, he has made his name known among the electronic music community in Florida. Earlier in 2016 he dominated one of the stages at Life In Color Miami, and was also offered a residency at Heart, one of Miami's premiere nightclubs. He's already booked on some huge shows over the next coming months, so definitely keep your eyes peeled for the name "Katustrophix" in the near future.

His first ever major gig was opening for Zeds Dead at Club Cinema back in 2014, and this weekend he is back at Cinema playing Maydaze 2016 alongside Brillz, Kayzo, Rain Man, and so many more! If you haven't heard about Maydaze yet, I highly recommend grabbing your tickets now. This is without a doubt going to be one of the biggest parties of the Summer in South Florida!

Check out the trailer below and buy your tickets NOW before they run out at www.Maydaze2016.com.

Apex Presents: Lookas Recap

Everybody knows that Miami knows how to throw a great party and this weekend was nothing short of that expectation. Our friends at Apex Presents fulfilled our expectations by throwing the dopest show at Heart Nightclub! Big N Slim started the night off hard AF! If you were in the crowd you were head banging to the filthiest of dubstep, trap and hardstyle. Big N Slim transported us to a distant alien planet where the only requirement was to get ratchet!

2016 is quickly turning into a movie for Bonnie X Clyde. Just days after their debut trap hit "Worth It" Bonnie X Clyde showed us they hands down bring the dopest sets wherever they go. With a packed out terrace they brought everyone on a journey of epic proportions. BXC had us twerking, moshing, signing along and just straight vibin' the whole entire set!

By this point in the night, the terrace was overflowing with people waiting in anticipation for the main man himself. Finally, Lookas hit the decks and instantly went to work. From the dirtiest of trap beats to the biggest future bass hits, Lookas owned the club and everyone in it. Their was so much energy behind Lookas' set that we were surprised Heart Nightclub still has paint on the walls and working speakers!

Check out our LIVE STREAM from the show!

If you missed out on this weekend or want to relieve the craziness, Apex Presents is bringing another epic party to Club Cinema in Pompano Beach on Saturday May 14th. Maydaze 2016 brings you twonk superstar Brillz, the hardstyle genius Kayzo, and the brilliantly talented Rain Man to South Florida. Don't miss out on this epic lineup!

Check out the OFFICIAL Maydaze 2016 trailer below. More details & tickets available at www.maydaze2016.com. See you there!

[Event + Contest] Buku Attendees: Check out LATE NIGHT FUNKTION w/ Chill Harris, Space Jesus, Psymbionic, Zoogma + MORE

If you are heading out to New Orleans next weekend for BUKU Music & Arts Project, you are in for a VERY SPECIAL treat! From March 10th - 12th, a group of South Eastern promoters is putting together a series of parties that are collectively called LATE NIGHT FUNKTION at The Howlin Wolf: New Orleans. Over the course of THREE NIGHTS, attendees will get the chance to see a number of legendary bass music artists perform as they keep the BUKU party going! The final lineup consists of Chill Harris, Space Jesus, Psymbionic, Zoogma, Muzzy Bearr, Freddy Todd, Wick-It The Instigator, Krooked Drivers, Marvel Years, Daily Bread, Kaminanda, and Dino Brawl (set times at the bottom of this post). And did I mention there might be a few SURPRISE GUESTS in store?!

Up until about a week ago, araabMUZIK was scheduled to headline on March 11th, however he was tragically shot in his head, jaw, and arm while in a vehicle in Harlem, New York. Thankfully, the injuries he sustained ARE NOT life-threatening, however, he has had to cancel all of his upcoming performances for the time being.

While the LATE NIGHT FUNKTION crew, and worldwide music community were shocked and saddened by yet another instance of unnecessary gun violence, the team decided that the show must go on! "With the gun narrative in mind, we were reminded of a strong message delivered from a brilliant artist, following the November 13th attacks in Paris, France. When the smoke cleared, people came together to honor those we lost. The next day Kill Paris mad an announcement on his facebook page:

"....While there is tragedy everywhere, every day, and every person has their own, the events in Paris yesterday have made me feel that my name as an artist is not appropriate anymore. What my music stands for is love and peace, and I hope my fans know that. Moving forward, I do not want people to get the wrong idea about me and my music just because I’ve gone under a particular pseudonym. I am dropping my old moniker and will now use the name Chill Harris. My music has always been about sharing the moments with others where no language is needed to understand each-other. I will continue to share the love, and stay true to the music. I believe music helps us connect and understand each other. We need this understanding and respect for each other more than ever right now."
I am looking forward to almost every artist playing during this three-part bass music extravaganza, but one of the highlights for me will definitely be seeing Muzzy Bearr who is famously known for playing guitar alongside GRiZ. If you haven seen his recent performance with GRiZ on Last Call: Carson Daly, you NEED to check it out below:

These parties have been a collaborative effort between the folks at Capital Crown, Pass The Good Entertainment, Sweet Science Radio, and SOMA Entertainment. Without the extraordinary effort put forth by these guys, this multi-day event would never have be possible. Ticket prices are currently $69.57 for a THREE-DAY pass or $27.37 for a SINGLE-DAY pass. Follow the link below to purchase tickets:

The LNF crew and Electronic Anything are holding a contest on HIVE for a chance to win TWO (2) THREE-DAY PASSES! You and a friend will be able to check out ALL THREE SHOWS from March 10th - 12th! Click the picture/link below and follow the steps to enter!
