[8-11-14] Artist Feature - NETSKY -

As I was going through my music library from years past, I decided I wanted to start a new editorial series on the producers that have stood out from the crowd; for their talent, their dedication, their creativity, and their sincere love for music.

My first feature is on none other than the Drum & Bass master, NETSKY! At only 25 years young, he is already a name known by almost every DnB fan across the world for his unique liquid-funk style of Drum & Bass. Since he signed with Hospital Records back in 2009 he has released two albums, and several singles that all have been extremely successful. Although his productions are primarily Drum & Bass, he also uses his musical talents to produce tunes in a variety of other electronic sub-genres. Not to mention he has a knack for choosing some of the absolute greatest vocals to use for his songs. What sticks out most when I listen to Netsky is not only how creative each track is, but also how evident it is that he has a true and deep understanding of music. The gift of today's technology makes it possible for anybody to create their own music, right at home, without even having to have a musical background. However, producers like Netsky demonstrate what is REALLY possible when you take the time to learn about music and music theory before ever stepping into the world of digital music.
